Deborah Falik introduced me to Mary Ellen Bates. I found Mary Ellen Bates' presence on the Internet demanded that she have her own separate entry in my blog.
I began my teaching career in the Texas public school system, about 38 years ago. After 12 years, I moved from Texas to New York and began teaching high school and middle school computers (for about 19 years) and math in Westchester County.
I currently teach primary level special education at an elementary school. A wonderful opportunity recently arose when I was asked if I wanted to teach computers in the elementary school's media center – and I am most enthusiastic to accept it – but I must first earn certification as a school media specialist. In July '07, I began studies in pursuit of that certification at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, Queens College, The City University of New York. An ancillary benefit of my course of study is this blog's increased activity: blogging is an activity in one of my courses.
